Many countries, one goal—secure land rights for all.

Since the earliest days of our founder Roy Prosterman’s work on land rights in Vietnam, Landesa’s impact has grown to over 66 countries across the globe—and counting. We support in-country programs led by local staff and experts, and lead various initiatives throughout the world in partnership with national, international, private sector, and local actors.

Our global team brings expertise and lived experience in research, law, rural development, land management, gender justice, climate change, cross-sector partnerships, and beyond.

Country programs

Our global reach

Landesa supports a number of programs and initiatives that drive change throughout the world, and have already helped strengthen land rights for more than 750 million people.

Our programs work to improve women’s access to land rights, fight climate change, increase trust and sustainability in the private sector, strengthen global research, and elevate the importance of land rights at the global level.

Throughout this work, we help drive innovative implementation solutions, engage in strategic and cross-cutting advocacy with partners, develop effective tools and platforms, and improve the availability and use of data.
